The Oscar-winning actress has opened up about why her 'X-Men' character did not make a return in the latest Marvel blockbuster, which brings back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

AceShowbiz - In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Halle Berry shared that she was never approached by Ryan Reynolds to reprise her role as Storm in "Deadpool & Wolverine". The blockbuster featured several surprise returns from Fox's Marvel era, including Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Despite the film's inclusion of other "X-Men" characters such as Sabretooth and Pyro, Berry's Storm was notably absent. While Blake Lively had informally inquired about her availability, Reynolds himself did not extend an offer.
Berry played Storm alongside Jackman in four "X-Men" films. Her character has become one of her most iconic roles. However, she has previously expressed her frustrations with director Bryan Singer during the production of the earlier films.
One reason for Berry's absence in "Deadpool & Wolverine" might be rooted in Singer's past behavior. Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn revealed that he rejected the offer to direct "X-Men: The Last Stand" after learning of a plan to deceive Berry into signing on for a role she did not want.
"The main reason I quit 'X-Men 3' is because I saw an 'X3' script, and it was a lot fatter. I asked, 'What is this draft?' They were like, 'Don't worry about it.' So I grabbed it, and opened the first page, and it said, 'Africa. Kids dying from no water, and Storm creates a thunderstorm to save all these children,' " Vaughn stated.
Despite Vaughn's concerns, Berry did return as Storm in "X-Men: The Last Stand". However, the film did not include any scenes set in Africa as initially planned.
