AceShowbiz - Tom Cruise went all and above at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony. The action star, who's been known for his epic stunt, jumped off the top of the Stade de France to hand over games to Los Angeles for 2028.
Strapped into a harness, the 62-year-old was welcomed with cheers and greeted by L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, who was handed the Olympic flag by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo during the ceremony. The "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Part One" actor then hopped onto a motorcycle with the flag in tow before riding out of the country's biggest stadium to make the symbolic delivery to L.A.
Tom rode down the Paris streets as the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By the Way" played in the background. Not stopping there, he drove into a helicopter, then parachuted out of it and landed by the Hollywood sign. Upon his arrival, the "Top Gun" legend attached the five Olympic rings to it.
As previously reported, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish and hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg are expected to perform from Los Angeles as part of the international celebration. The diverse lineup aims to bridge cultural gaps and showcase the universal language of music that unites people worldwide.
Meanwhile, Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy winner H.E.R., is slated to perform the U.S. national anthem at the closing ceremony. The multi-talented artist will join the lineup of French music legends Phoenix and Air at the Stade de France, marking the handover to LA28.
The ceremony will also spotlight Team USA's gold medal swimmer Katie Ledecky and rower Nick Mead, who have been chosen as the flag bearers for the United States. Their exemplary achievements reflect the spirit and dedication of athletes who participate in the Olympic Games.
