In the first sneak peek at the new 'Star Wars' TV series, Jude Law joins a group of young explorers in an intergalactic coming-of-age story that pays homage to the classic Amblin films of the 1980s.

AceShowbiz - Disney+ has released the trailer for "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew," an upcoming series starring Jude Law that will debut on December 3. The show follows four young adventurers who embark on an adventure across the galaxy after discovering a mysterious crashed starship on their planet.

The trailer introduces Law's character, Jod Na Nawood, a enigmatic figure who commands the Force. Joining the young cast are Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the kids on their intergalactic quest.

The trailer evokes the light-hearted and nostalgic atmosphere of classic Amblin films like "The Goonies" and "E.T." The young characters navigate space-bicycles, explore a hidden starship, and encounter bizarre creatures.

"Skeleton Crew" was created by Jon Watts and Chris Ford, who previously collaborated on "Spider-Man: Homecoming." The series boasts an impressive lineup of directors, including Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert ("Everything Everywhere All at Once"), David Lowery ("The Green Knight"), and Bryce Dallas Howard, who has directed episodes of "The Mandalorian."

Despite its focus on young characters, "Skeleton Crew" is not solely targeted at children. As Jude Law explained, "It could be for anyone," striking a balance between humor and dark, suspenseful moments.

The series is set in the early days of the New Republic, a similar time frame to "The Mandalorian." The trailer teases a connection to the popular Disney+ show through the appearance of space pirate Vane, played by Marti Matulis.

"Skeleton Crew" promises to be a standalone adventure while paying homage to the "Star Wars" universe and the beloved coming-of-age films of the 1980s. With its talented cast and directors, the series is poised to offer a captivating and nostalgic experience for fans of all ages.
