The 41-year-old Academy Award winner is expected to reunite with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt as well as Stanley Tucci in the sequel to the beloved 2006 flick.

AceShowbiz - Anne Hathaway may soon be enchanting fashion lovers and moviegoers once more with a sequel to the beloved "The Devil Wears Prada". According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress portraying Andy Sachs in the 2006 iconic film is in talks for the second film.

If the report is true, it means the 41-year-old Academy Award winner will reunite with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Producer Wendy Finerman will also return to oversee the project along with director David Frankel.

Disney has taken the reins for the sequel, with screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna working on its screenplay. Aline penned the original screenplay that turned the 2006 movie into a massive hit.

According to reports, the sequel "focuses on Miranda Priestly, Streep's Wintour-esque protagonist, at the end of her career, facing the decline of traditional magazine publishing. She's forced to go head-to-head with her former assistant, Blunt's Emily Charlton, now a high-powered executive at a Kering or LVMH-style luxury group, whose advertising dollars Priestly desperately needs."

Despite the tantalizing prospect, not all reactions have been positive. Some fans argue that the initial film had a perfectly satisfying ending and that continuing the story could be a "bad idea."

Yet, others are excited to see what new dynamics and drama will unfold, especially with the evolving landscape of the magazine industry being a focal point. It's clear that regardless of mixed feelings, the anticipation for this sequel is undeniably strong.

This development also arrives on the heels of Vanessa Williams taking on the role of Miranda Priestly in the musical adaptation, which has just begun performances in London. The buzz surrounding the character and the narrative is a testament to its enduring appeal.
