AceShowbiz - Global Citizen has announced that Lisa of BLACKPINK will co-headline the 2024 Global Citizen Festival at the Great Lawn in Central Park on September 28. This will be her first solo performance at a music festival.
Katie Hill, Global Citizen's Senior Vice President and Head of Music, Entertainment and Artist Relations, expressed excitement to have Lisa on the lineup. "Lisa is not only an incredible performer, but also a powerful advocate, leveraging her voice and platform to drive action on some of the most urgent challenges our world is facing," she said in a statement.
Lisa previously released her solo debut single "Lalisa" in 2021, followed by "SG" with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion, as well as "Money". Her latest single "Rockstar" has reached No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fans can earn free tickets to the festival by taking action on various world issues through the Global Citizen app. Additional tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.
Additional headliners at this year's festival include Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll and Rauw Alejandro. Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman will host the event, while Dr. Jane Goodall and Coldplay's Chris Martin will make appearances.
Global Citizen is an international advocacy organization focused on ending extreme poverty. The festival provides a platform for artists to raise awareness about and support various social and environmental causes. Despite concerns about potential damage to the Great Lawn in Central Park after last year's festival, Global Citizen has stated that it pays for all damages and closes the lawn for several months each year.
