The 'Big Little Lies' actress discusses the reasons behind changing the title of her upcoming film, which stars Channing Tatum, from 'P***y Island' to 'Blink Twice'.

AceShowbiz - Zoe Kravitz has explained her decision to rename her directorial debut, originally titled "Pussy Island". The film, which stars Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie, is now titled "Blink Twice".
Kravitz revealed that she was determined to keep her film's original title, which she felt was representative of the story and its feminist themes. However, she encountered numerous obstacles, including resistance from the MPAA and movie theaters.
Additionally, she received criticism from women who were offended by the use of the word "p***y." Kravitz acknowledged that society is not yet ready to embrace the word and that she has a responsibility as a filmmaker to listen to feedback.
Despite the change, Kravitz maintains that the spirit of "Pussy Island" remains present in the film. She believes the new title focuses the movie and ultimately fits well with its intended message.
"Blink Twice" follows Frida (Ackie), a cocktail waitress invited to a private island by tech billionaire Slater King (Tatum). As the weekend progresses, the seemingly idyllic getaway turns into a twisted nightmare, highlighting the exploitation and treatment of women in powerful circles.
In addition to Tatum and Ackie, the film features an ensemble cast including Christian Slater, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Kyle MacLachlan and Geena Davis. "Blink Twice" is scheduled for release in theaters on August 23.
