AceShowbiz - On July 9, 2023, Jon Bon Jovi experienced a profound loss with the passing of his mother, Carol A. Bongiovi. She passed away at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, just three days before her 84th birthday.
"Our mother was a force to be reckoned with," said Jon Bon Jovi in a statement on behalf of his family. "Her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family."
Carol Bongiovi, a native of Erie, Pennsylvania, made an indelible mark on her family and beyond. She was an entrepreneur, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and the founder of the official fan club for her son's iconic rock band, Bon Jovi. She met her husband, John Bongiovi, Sr., while serving in the Marines, and the couple raised their family in Sayreville and Holmdel, New Jersey.
Carol Bongiovi instilled in her children a belief that anything was possible. "Even if you truly weren’t any good at your craft, if you believed you were, you could work on it," Jon Bon Jovi said of his parents' encouragement.
Carol Bongiovi is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Bongiovi, Sr., as well as three sons and daughters-in-law: Jon and Dorothea, Anthony and Nina Yang Bongiovi, and Matthew and Desiree Bongiovi, and eight grandchildren.
The family has opted for private funeral services, handled by the Holmdel Funeral Home. Their thoughts are with the Bongiovi family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Carol A. Bongiovi.
