Despite recent concerns about Drake's ability to rebound from a series of underperforming releases, DJ Akademiks has announced that new music from the rapper is on its way.

However, DJ Akademiks has dispelled these rumors, stating during a recent livestream that new Drake music is indeed forthcoming. Akademiks also praised the upcoming music, describing it as "fire."
While Akademiks did not specify when the new music would be released, it is noteworthy that Drake has a history of releasing new albums in the summer and fall. Therefore, fans may expect to hear something from him within the next few months.
In the meantime, Drake's recent guest appearances, including "U My Everything" featuring Sexyy Red and "Rich Baby Daddy" with SZA, have performed moderately well on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Akademiks' update on Drake's new music comes on the heels of the Canadian superstar's heated feud with fellow hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick's diss "Not Like Us", which is aimed at Drake, is currently holding strong at No. 3 on the Hot 100.
The release of the music video for "Not Like Us" may further boost its performance and possibly dethrone Post Malone and Morgan Wallen from the top spot. Akademiks also commented on the "Not Like Us" music video, saying that it "gave everybody a look" and was "pretty good."
