'Riverdale' actress Vanessa Morgan and boyfriend James Karnik are expecting their first child together, marking an exciting new chapter for the couple and their growing family.

This will be their first child together, and Vanessa's second, as she is already a proud mom to her son River, who was born in January 2021.
In a beautiful series of photos posted to both of their Instagram accounts, the couple shared glimpses of their maternity photoshoot, which took place in an enchanting forest setting.
In one photo, James is seen holding Vanessa in his arms, with his hand lovingly cradling her baby bump. Another shot captures Vanessa alone, giving a clear view of her bump, while additional black and white photos show the couple walking through a grassy field, smiling and locking eyes with evident excitement and love.
Vanessa captioned her post, "So in love with this man, our family of 4 coming this month. Surprise! Thank you GOD." James also shared his joy, captioning his post with, "Holdin BOTH my girls at the same time," confirming the couple is expecting a daughter.
Vanessa shares son River with her ex-husband, Michael Kopech. The couple got married in January 2020 but announced their split six months later. Despite their separation, Michael remains an active presence in River's life. Vanessa has spoken highly of James's relationship with River, explaining on the "Broad Ideas" podcast that James has become a "father figure" to him.
"At least [River] will always know that my partner now has been there from what he will remember, as the beginning," Vanessa shared. "They're together every single day... he looks at him like a father figure."
This new chapter comes after Vanessa opened up about the challenges she faced following her divorce. "God saved me. I only saw the bigger picture now," she said on the "Broad Ideas" podcast. She shared the emotional journey of overcoming the pain of her previous relationship and embracing the unexpected beauty of her current path.
