AceShowbiz - Dan Reynolds has given his fans an insight into his relationship with Minka Kelly. The Imagine Dragons rocker revealed that he got to know the "Euphoria" star "on a deeper level quite quickly."

In a new interview published on Tuesday, July 2, the 36-year-old musician detailed the "really strange" way he bonded with his 44-year-old girlfriend. Speaking to PEOPLE, he said that he and the actress got to know each other before meeting for the first time.

Dan recalled, "She's like, 'Well, if you're going to share your art, I can share something with you, but it's very vulnerable for me. Do you want to do this or not?' She was very scared for me to read the book because we hadn't met, just as much as I was scared for her to hear a song that I'd written." He was making a reference to her 2023 memoir "Tell Me Everything" and his band's song in their new album "Loom".

"But we shared it and then it ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us a lot closer," Dan went on to share. "I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quite quickly."

Noting that he received rough drafts of her book before their first meet-up, the singer explained, "It was a really strange and awesome way to meet someone because I was hearing all her life stories from youth to now, and she had a really hard, colorful, beautiful life. Getting to read it all before you even meet somebody... I've never had that kind of introduction to someone."

During the chat, Dan also told the media outlet that he and Minka "were introduced by a mutual friend." At that time, she was working in the United Kingdom. They "talked over the phone for a month" before meeting each other. In November 2022, the two were first seen together.

Previously, the "Nice to Meet You" singer was in a marriage to fellow artist Aja Volkman. They called it quits in 2022 after 11 years of marriage. The former couple shares 11-year-old daughter Arrow, 7-year-old twin girls Gia and Coco as well as 4-year-old son Valentine together.
