No major spoilers have emerged from leaked set photos of Gunn's upcoming Superman movie, but fans have been treated to exciting glimpses of Metropolis and its key characters.

AceShowbiz - The Man of Steel may be faster than a speeding bullet, but not even "Superman" could evade the lenses of eager photographers. Recently, James Gunn's Superman movie, which is deep into production in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, has been the subject of set photo leaks, giving fans an unauthorized sneak peek into the new DC Universe reboot.

While these leaks could be frustrating for many filmmakers, Gunn took to the social media platform Threads to express that this was entirely expected. "Fully expected," Gunn remarked in response to a curious fan. He also reassured another fan that no significant plot details had been spoiled, stating, "Not even a little. I'd never shoot a big spoiler outside in the middle of the city."

The leaked photos managed to unveil some exciting elements, such as the detailed new Superman suit worn by David Corenswet. Fans have noted the presence of the iconic trunks, a yellow belt and a Kingdom Come-inspired symbol on the suit. Additionally, the photos have captured other beloved characters, including Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor and Edi Gathegi's Mister Terrific.

Despite Gunn's best efforts to keep key plot points under wraps, speculation continues, especially regarding Hoult's portrayal of Lex Luthor. Set photos showing Hoult with injuries suggest a potential altercation, although it's unclear whether the conflict involves Superman or another character. Meanwhile, Isabela Merced, who is set to portray Hawkgirl, has also arrived in Cleveland, hinting at her imminent involvement in the film's action-packed scenes.

One of the more surprising reveals from the leaks was Frank Grillo's appearance as Rick Flag Sr. Grillo, already playing the character in other DC projects like Creature Commandos and Peacemaker, was seen filming a scene with Corenswet's Superman. The context of this scene remains a mystery.

Milly Alcock, rumored to star as Superman's cousin in her standalone Supergirl movie, was speculated to make a surprise appearance on the set. However, Gunn dispelled this rumor, humorously noting that Alcock hasn't been in Cleveland unless she's there on an undisclosed vacation.

James Gunn's "Superman" reboot, originally titled "Superman: Legacy", promises to delve into Superman's journey of reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. The official synopsis describes Superman as the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by "human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned."

The film, which will officially launch the new DC Universe, boasts a stellar cast including Maria Gabriela de Faria, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover and Pruitt Taylor Vince, among others. Fans won't have to wait too long as the movie is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. As filming continues, enthusiasts can expect more glimpses of what promises to be an epic return to Metropolis.
