Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that the upcoming TV series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the title character is set to break new ground within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige has offered the first official update on the highly anticipated "Wonder Man" TV series, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the title character. Introduced in the comics in 1964, Wonder Man is an engineer who becomes an enemy of the Avengers but ultimately fights alongside them.

Developed by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the Disney+ show has kept details under wraps but has been officially greenlit since October 2022. Along with Abdul-Mateen II, the cast includes Demetrius Grosse as Simon's brother Eric and Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery from "Iron Man 3" and "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings".

In an interview on the "Official Marvel Podcast", Feige emphasized the importance of trying new storylines and characters to keep Marvel Studios fresh and exciting. He highlighted 'Wonder Man' as a prime example of this approach, saying, "It's extremely different than anything we've done before."

Feige expressed enthusiasm for the possibility of continuing to innovate within the MCU, despite its long history and extensive filmography. He noted the upcoming "Agatha All Along" spin-off series and the highly anticipated "Daredevil: Born Again" and "Ironheart" series as evidence of the studio's dedication to exploring new ideas.

While specific release dates for "Wonder Man" have yet to be announced, the series is expected to join Marvel's TV lineup soon. The show is executive produced by Cretton, Guest, Louis D'Esposito and Brad Winderbaum, and produced by Bonnie Munoz.
