The 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' actress posts a heartfelt message on Instagram, calling him 'Pa' and expressing her gratitude for his role in her life since she was 4 years old.

AceShowbiz - Kate Hudson paid a tribute to stepfather Kurt Russell on Father's Day. The "Almost Famous" actress made use of her Instagram to express her gratitude for his role in her life since she was 4 years old.

Alongside a selfie of her and Kurt, she wrote in the caption, "You got that right Loretta! I love my Pa so much! What a man, lucky me Love you Pa Happy Father's Day!"

Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn, and Russell have been together for over four decades, and their strong bond has inspired her own perspective on family. "Their dedication to that unit is the strongest value," she said. "It's an amazing thing to see."

Hudson previously opened up about her own "patchwork family," which includes three children with three different men. She said that despite their different fathers, her children are "very connected" and feel like they have a large, loving family.

"I think the thing that's so unique about my life is that in this very patchwork family, we all have figured it out," she explained. "The kids feel like they have this huge family."

Hudson attributes her ability to navigate this complex family dynamic to her own upbringing. "I inherited my parenting skills from my own mother and father," she said of Hawn and Russell. "They're so open to it and understand it's the most mature thing for the kids."

Hudson also credits her exes for their support and cooperation in co-parenting. She even maintains good relationships with their new partners and their children. "I'm like, 'Yeah, come, bring her over,'" she said of babysitting her ex's daughter.

"Everybody's open to it and understands it's the most mature thing for the kids," she added. "And you can see it in them - they feel loved, they feel protected, they feel safe."

Hudson's debut album, "Glorious", explores the different forms of love, including the love within her blended family. "I was like, 'This is just a life well-loved,' " she said of the album's theme. "Through all of the highs and the lows, then all the stuff that comes with what it is to love a partner, your friends, your children...What a glorious thing to have so much love."
