The former BET host and actor reveals his dad's passing just a few days after a report suggested that he participated in a hit-and-run with his girlfriend.

AceShowbiz - This year's Father's Day didn't feel the same for Terrence J. On Sunday, June 16, "The Perfect Match" star sadly revealed that his dad died "recently."
The 42-year-old shared the sad news via Instagram. In a note, he divulged, "My dad recently passed away. Missing him so much & so grateful for the time I had with him."
"Sending support to everyone with a heavy heart today, you are not alone," the television presenter added. "And to all the fathers out there, thank you for all you do. Love & cherish them while you can!"
Many have since shown support to Terrence. One in particular was actress Karrueche Tran, who commented, "Sending you love!" Gabrielle Union replied, "love you kiddo," along with red heart emojis. Larsa Pippen, meanwhile, let out prayer emojis.
Terrence's post arrived just a few days after TMZ reported that the actor participated in a hit-and-run. His black McLaren, valued at $200,000, reportedly slammed into a parking meter early Tuesday morning, June 11, in Studio City, California, and slid until it struck a tree.
Witnesses told the outlet that his girlfriend Jasmine Sanders was behind the wheel. The couple allegedly fled the scene immediately afterward.
However, the model's representative shut down the reports. "On behalf of our client, Jasmine Sanders, I would like to clarify that Ms. Sanders was not in the vehicle at the time of this morning’s accident and was in no way involved," the rep told PEOPLE.
