The renowned golfer is caught on camera not wearing his wedding ring during his first outing since filing a notice to dismiss his divorce from his wife Erica Stoll.

AceShowbiz - Rory McIlroy, the renowned golfer, has made headlines once again. After filing for divorce from his wife Erica Stoll in May, McIlroy has now called off the split, filing a notice to dismiss the case on Tuesday. However, his absence of a wedding ring during the first round of the U.S. Open on Thursday has raised eyebrows.

McIlroy, a four-time major champion, appeared in good spirits at a practice round at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina on Wednesday, June 12 ahead of the U.S. Open. Sporting shorts, a grey polo, and a Nike baseball cap, he was noticeably not wearing his wedding band.

In the past, McIlroy has spoken about his desire to maintain an amicable relationship with Stoll, particularly concerning their three-year-old daughter, Poppy. In a statement to The Guardian, he said, "There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate... Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning."

McIlroy was previously seen without his wedding ring during the PGA Championship in May, just a day before filing for divorce. Stoll was also seen without her engagement ring during an outing in Florida.

Speculation has arisen about the potential motivation behind McIlroy's change of heart. Some sources suggest that the fear of legal costs, estimated to be in the millions, may have influenced his decision to reconcile with Stoll.
