The singer-songwriter has achieved another milestone with an award recognizing her songwriting prowess which is presented at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2024 Induction and Awards Gala.

AceShowbiz - Singer SZA has added the Hal David Starlight Award to her growing collection of accolades. The prestigious honor was presented at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2024 Induction and Awards Gala on June 13, recognizing SZA's significant impact on the music industry through her original songwriting.

In her acceptance speech, the 34-year-old artist expressed her gratitude and elation, stating, "I'm just beyond all of my wildest dreams. This award basically validates all aspects of my career, including songwriting."

SZA acknowledged the challenges she faced as a woman, particularly a black woman, in the industry, "I'll be like, 'Oh I wrote this and I wrote that,' and [people would] be like, 'OK.' " She added, "So, to win this... It just means the world."

The Hal David Starlight Award is a testament to SZA's exceptional songwriting abilities. She joins an esteemed group of past honorees, including Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran and Lil Nas X.

Following the gala, SZA performed an acoustic rendition of her song "Snooze". The event also featured performances and presentations by a host of stars, including Missy Elliott, Jason Isbell, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

This latest accolade adds to SZA's impressive awards resume. She has previously won three Grammys, four iHeartRadio Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and a Brit Award.

Beyond her music career, SZA is also set to make her feature-length acting debut in a buddy comedy opposite Keke Palmer, produced by Issa Rae.
