AceShowbiz - Emily Blunt is reportedly in early talks to star in Steven Spielberg's next feature film. This will mark the "A Quiet Place" actress' first collaboration with the legendary director.

The untitled Universal Pictures project is described as an event film, a genre that Spielberg helped establish with classics like "Jaws" and "Indiana Jones". David Koepp, who previously worked with Spielberg on "Jurassic Park" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," has penned the screenplay.

Plot details are being kept secret, but the film is expected to have a wide scope and impressive special effects. It is scheduled for release on May 15, 2026, Spielberg's first summer release since "The BFG" in 2016.

Blunt earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" and recently starred alongside Ryan Gosling in "The Fall Guy." She has a history of working with acclaimed directors, including Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Rob Marshall, Doug Liman, and Rian Johnson.

Spielberg is a three-time Oscar winner, with best director and best picture awards for "Schindler's List" and best director for "Saving Private Ryan". His most recent film, "The Fabelmans", received seven Oscar nominations, including for best picture and best director.

The news of Blunt's casting was first reported by Deadline. She is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer.
