While making an appearance at the launch party of Rihanna x Fenty Hair in Los Angeles, the 'Take a Bow' songstress jokes about her highly-anticipated record.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna is aware that her fans have been waiting for her new music for so long. The "Umbrella" singer, who has not launched an album in years, poked fun at her long-awaited ninth studio album.

The 36-year-old multi-talented artist joked about her highly-anticipated set when making an appearance at the launch party of Rihanna x Fenty Hair. In a video from the recent event that made its rounds on Instagram on Wednesday, June 12, it could be seen that she was sharing a few words in front of guests.

At one point, Rihanna let out a joke about the album when she discussed her Rihanna x Fenty Hair venture. In the clip, she could be heard saying, "This is probably the longest I've ever taken to create something." She quickly clarified, "No, I lied, that's R9."

The "Take a Bow" songstress, who is also known as RiRi, was documented pointing her finger to the packed audience as she bursted into laughter. The joke also prompted the attendees to scream out loud.

During the bash, which took place at Nya Studios in Los Angeles on Monday, June 10, RiRi also gave her response to a speculation suggesting that she was retired. She explained, "People got triggered with that retired word... No one read the other line, it was something about, 'This is as dressed up as I get,' " referring to an "I'm Retired" top that she previously wore on an outing.

Rihanna also assured her fans that she's far from done with music. She elaborated, "I think that music, for me, is a new discovery. I'm rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I'm prepared to go back in the studio. I'm gonna start, give me a second!"

RiRi further shared, "Yeah, I'm starting over. But I don't want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I'm still in love with."
