AceShowbiz - Sofia Vergara, known for her charismatic role in "Modern Family" and as a judge on "America's Got Talent," recently shared her anxieties regarding filming intimate scenes for her latest project, Netflix's "Griselda."
At a Netflix FYSEE event, Vergara revealed, "I don't think I've ever done a sex scene," noting the absence of such scenes with her "Modern Family" co-star Ed O'Neill throughout the show's 11-season run. Reflecting on her age, she admitted, "If I was 30, I wouldn't have worried" about body image issues.
The 51-year-old actress wasn't confident about how her body would appear on screen. "I think I was worried that I was going to look horrific," she said candidly. "I was like, 'Where are they shooting me? The cellulite? From the side?' Uh, I'm vain I guess. That one kept me awake, I think."
Despite her initial concerns, Vergara praised the series, describing it as "really dark" and extolling director Andres Baiz's artistic vision. He assured her that the camera wouldn't linger uncomfortably on her. "It came out good. Andy made me feel super comfortable," she shared.
Vergara's transparency about her insecurities extends beyond her current role. In an interview with Allure magazine, she expressed a strong interest in plastic surgery. "I'm going to do every plastic surgery that I can do when I'm ready," she revealed.
Though her acting career has prevented her from undergoing multiple procedures due to time constraints, she is determined to combat aging. "I wish I had more downtime - I would've done stuff already," she confessed.
Her commitment to maintaining her appearance stems from her aversion to aging. "I'm going to fight it every step of the way," she boldly stated to People magazine. "I know I don't look the same. But I don't think I am going to ever be the woman that has the courage to be, like, all-white hair." Vergara's frankness about her fears and actions resonates with many, shedding light on the pressures and realities faced by those constantly in the public eye.
As Vergara navigates new ventures and battles the inevitable effects of aging, her candor provides a refreshing perspective on beauty standards and the lengths to which one might go to uphold them. Her journey underscores the importance of self-acceptance while also acknowledging the societal pressures that influence personal choices.
