The Hadid sisters, renowned for their modeling careers, are making headlines for their generous donation of one million dollars to support Palestinian humanitarian efforts amid the escalating Gaza conflict.

AceShowbiz - Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid, the fashion icons known for their work with top-tier design houses and prestigious fashion shows, have collectively pledged one million dollars to support relief efforts in Palestine.

According to their agent, this significant contribution will be evenly distributed among four humanitarian organizations focused on aiding children and families: Heal Palestine, Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), World Central Kitchen (WCK), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

The sisters' solidarity with the Palestinian cause is deeply personal, stemming from their Palestinian heritage through their father, real estate mogul Mohamed Anwar Hadid. Both have been vocal advocates for the people of Palestine, especially in light of recent tensions.

In the wake of the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel, Gigi expressed her thoughts on Instagram. She wrote, "My thoughts are with all those affected by this unjustifiable tragedy, and every day that innocent lives are taken by this conflict - too many of which are children. I have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation; it's a responsibility I hold daily."

She affirmed her humanitarian stance, saying, "While I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include the harm of a Jewish person."

Bella also voiced her feelings on social media. She expressed her sorrow at the plight of the Palestinian people and critiqued the global response, saying she was "devastated at the loss of the Palestinian people and the lack of empathy coming from the government systems worldwide."

Her appearance at the Cannes film festival last month emphasized her commitment to her roots, as she wore a red and white dress made of keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian cloth, symbolizing the resilience and art of Palestinian embroidery.

Their father, Mohamed Hadid, has not shied away from expressing his controversial views, branding President Joe Biden a "Zionist war criminal" on Instagram and demanding an end to the occupation and colonialism. Despite the criticism, he stands by his daughters, praising their humanitarian efforts globally, from aiding in disaster relief in Turkey to combating famine in Africa.

"My kids always have followed their intuition when it comes to human torture and human nature - what happens to humans on earth," he said. "From the disaster in Turkey to the famine in Africa and homelessness in Southeast Asia, they have been involved in these things, building schools for UNICEF and so on. It's always been a humanitarian issue in their blood, nothing to do with being Palestinian."
