It is previously claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to the African country for free 'by an airline whose chairman is a fugitive wanted in the U.S.'

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's team has spoken out about recent rumors about the couple following their Nigerian trip. It was said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to the African country for free "by an airline whose chairman is a fugitive wanted in the U.S."

Speaking to The Daily Beast, a source close to Meghan and Harry claimed that the couple's travel within Nigeria was organized by the Nigerian Chief of Defense Staff. The informant added that Air Peace is the largest airline in Nigeria and West Africa, and has daily flights from Lagos to Britain's London Gatwick airport.

Prior to this, Daily Mail claimed that Harry and Meghan's travel to Nigeria with the help of Dr. Allen Onyema, the founder of Nigerian airline Air Peace. The news outlet claimed that Allen is wanted in the U.S. and "facing multiple charges linked to millions of dollars' worth of alleged fraud set down in a federal indictment filed in November 2019."

The businessman reportedly was accused of "using his status as a prominent business leader and airline executive to launder more than $20million from Nigeria through U.S. bank accounts."

The news outlet also pointed out that a regional king, whom Harry and Meghan met, has had major tussles with U.S. law enforcement. Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, the 56-year-old Oluwo of Iwoland in Western Nigeria, has been jailed and deported twice from the U.S. and convicted of fraud.

Another report, meanwhile, claimed that King Charles And Prince William were angered with Harry and Meghan's 3-day Nigerian trip. "William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in future," royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror. "Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him."

During the trip, the Duchess of Sussex co-hosted a Women in Leadership event with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The couple also visited educational institutions and military hospitals, drawing substantial public attention.
