AceShowbiz - Sam Smith and Christian Cowan were all ready to join other stars at the Met Gala after-party in NYC. Unfortunately, the couple was denied entry and they were surprised by the rejection.
The party took place on Monday night, May 6 at The Mark Hotel. According to Page Six, someone told him, "You're not on the list, you can't come in," despite their fame and the fact they were staying at the luxurious hotel.
"They gave them a flat out 'no.' They tried three times," the source told the outlet. "They walked out surprised... But Sam was totally cool and polite."
Sam's night didn't end up too bad though as he was seen at [=Dua Lipa]'s party at Rob Toma's Hearsay in the Meatpacking District and other celebrations. He and his beau reportedly "kept the dance floor smoking hot."
Sam was not the only celebrity to have had such an experience. In 2023, Kylie Jenner was turned away from Richie Akiva, Doja Cat and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' party at the Box because it was at capacity.
"They wouldn't let her in," a witness said to Page Six. "They shut the door down because it was over capacity."
Another source claimed that "The Kardashians" star arrived after midnight to meet up with her sister Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny who were already inside. However, things were "chaotic" as there were over 100 people clamoring to get to the door.
While Kylie was a welcome VIP and could just wait to be escorted into the bash through a side door, the cosmetics mogul got out of her car before organizers were ready for her arrival. "She prematurely got out of her car," explained the source. "Then she decided to go home because she didn't want to be at a crowded party. She rarely goes to clubs."
