Spelling, currently in the midst of a divorce from Dean McDermott, admitted that Green was "the first love of [her] life."
While sharing that she had written her own wedding vows with Green during the filming of their characters' marriage episode, Spelling acknowledged that their on-screen romance had blurred the lines between fiction and reality. Despite their past flame, Spelling emphasized that her current connection with Green is purely platonic. She described them as "brother and sister, best friends" who share a close bond.
However, she also revealed that discussing her divorce with Green had led her to ponder whether she had ever been truly in love with McDermott. "I made some commentary, like, 'No, I was in love. Maybe I wasn't in love. I'm not sure. No one's broken my heart since you,' " Spelling recounted, referring to Green.
She added that Green had been a constant support throughout her personal challenges, including her financial woes and the turmoil surrounding her divorce. "He's been so great and such a champion. At times he gives me such inspiring words of 'you can do it professionally and personally,' " Spelling said.
While expressing her happiness for Green's current relationship with Sharna Burgess, Spelling admitted that she still gets nervous and excited when he speaks to her. "It's been 30 years. We're just friends. I love his fiancee," she said.
