The Rock has teased his interest in joining the country music world, following in the footsteps of Beyonce Knowles, Lana Del Rey, and Post Malone following his appearance in Chris Janson's music video.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has expressed a desire to pursue country music. Speaking to Billboard, the former WWE star said, "We have to work on it. Maybe this year, we'll see."

Johnson has a history with country music, having grown up listening to it and attempting to pursue a career in Nashville. He once sang a Hank Williams song in a grocery store, prompting a woman to encourage him to try his luck on Broadway.

Johnson recently appeared in Chris Janson's music video for "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get," where they spent time mudding in a vintage Ford pickup and enjoying downtime. The song became the most added song on country radio at its debut and is poised to be the country song of the summer.

Johnson is not the only celebrity to venture into country music. Beyonce Knowles, Lana Del Rey, and Post Malone have also embraced the genre. Malone, known for his hip-hop roots, has shifted towards country sounds, while Beyonce and Del Rey have incorporated elements of country into their music.

Johnson's interest in country music stems from his upbringing in Nashville. He once said, "I wanted to be a country singer. I tried to get into Tootsies and all these honky-tonk dive bars when I was 15 years old."

While his country music aspirations may not have taken off, Johnson remains a fan. He has publicly expressed his support for country artists such as Jelly Roll and Chris Janson. Johnson also delivered a rendition of Tanya Tucker's "Texas (When I Die)" while in Dallas for WWE Smackdown.

As for whether Johnson will release a country album this year, he remains uncertain. However, he is open to the possibility and has expressed a willingness to collaborate with other country artists.
