AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's parenting scores her backlash once again. The SKIMS founder landed in hot water after she posted on her Instagram account a picture of her 10-year-old daughter North West covered in Swarovski jewels.
On Saturday, April 13, "The Kardashians" star shared the photo with her 364 million followers on the app. In the snap, the preteen could be seen wearing an oversized Chicago Bulls T-shirt. She sported chunky crystal bracelets on her wrists.
Not stopping there, North showed off her diamonds with a thick crystal necklace and a crystallized chain flowing down her neck. She additionally wore triangular earrings as well as extravagant rings on her fingers. Kim captioned the photo, "Stylist of the year."
After catching wind of the picture, Internet users quickly blasted Kim. They slammed the reality TV star and businesswoman for "exposing" North to "tasteless wealth and super gaudy jewels."
"Obviously, we aren't famous celebs so there will be differences, but it does make me sad," one critic said, "It seems no one even attempts to let North be little for a while." Another added, "I wish she could just be a 10-year-old."
A third continued, "Kim really needs to stop exposing her. She's going to have a reputation before she's even a teen. I already see so many things on her about her being a brat." Echoing the sentiment, someone wrote, "Way too much and way too young. The piercings are not cute on a minor whether they are fake or not, they're not a good look."
Kim isn't a stranger to getting backlash over her parenting choice. Back in October 2023, North looked uncomfortable during an interview with i-D Magazine. "I'm going to do art on the side. When I'm, like, 13, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive," North shared at the time. "So a rapper, a basketball player, and I'm going to make artwork that I sell."
Fans believed that the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star forced North "into the limelight too young." A naysayer said, "A 10-year-old has no business giving interviews."
Kim's ex-husband Kanye West also slammed Kim publicly for the way she's raising their kids on multiple occasions. In addition to North, the former couple shares Psalm, Chicago and Saint West.
