While the 'You Make It Easy' singer delivers 'Let Your Boys Be Country' onstage at the annual award show, the 'Til You Can't' artist entertains attendees with a performance of 'That's Texas'.

AceShowbiz - Jason Aldean took the stage at the 2024 CMT Music Awards following a controversy. After his controversial "Try That in a Small Town" music video was banned, the "You Make It Easy" singer delivered one of his songs at the annual award show.

On Sunday, April 7, the 47-year-old country star made an appearance at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas to entertain the audience. Stepping on a stage along with a number of band members, he sang "Let Your Boys Be Country" and played a guitar. His performance appeared to have been enjoyed by attendees as they put their hands up in the air.

The show came after Jason was met with criticisms following the release of his song titled "Try That in a Small Town" and its music video. The visuals was perceived to have contained racist content, prompting Country Music Television (CMT) to pull it from broadcast. However, he insisted that "there is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it - and there is not a single video clip that isn't real news footage."

Aside from Jason, fellow country star Cody Johnson entertained the attendees at the 2024 CMT Music Awards. Cody got on the stage to kick off the star-studded event by delivering "That's Texas" and playing his guitar. At one point, he excitedly ran to approach the center of the stage and get closer to the attendees. He also shouted, "Texas!" prompting the attendees to cheer.

For the performance, the 36-year-old artist opted to wear a long-sleeved white button-up shirt and a pair of long dark gray tailored pants. The " 'Til You Can't" singer completed the look with a white cowboy hat and a brown belt. He also sported a pair of glossy black leather shoes.

After taking the stage, Cody was showered with praise by many social media users. Making use of X, formerly known as Twitter, one in particular gushed, "This guy puts on an unreal show." Similarly, another exclaimed, "Wow that was like bringing us back to Ray Benson Days asleep at the wheel totally awesome CJohnson!!" A third marveled, "Amazing performance! #votecodycmt."
