AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson is reportedly thriving after finalizing her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, a source close to the singer exclusively tells PEOPLE. "She is doing really well," the insider shared. "She is happy that she left L.A. for N.Y. She has the primary custody of the kids and is a great mom."
Despite her love for her work, the source emphasized that Clarkson's children remain her priority. "Although she loves working, the kids are her world," they said, adding that she is "very hands-on and fun." The source continued, "The divorce was difficult, but she recovered quickly and has no regrets."
Clarkson and Blackstock were married for nearly seven years before their split in June 2020. They have two children together, 9-year-old daughter River Rose and 7-year-old son Remington Alexander.
Four months after a California labor commissioner ruled that Blackstock owed Clarkson $2.6 million in past commissions, she filed new documents claiming he may actually owe her more. Clarkson alleges that Blackstock, who served as her manager from 2017 to 2020, violated state labor rules since 2007, when she entered into an oral agreement with his father's company, Starstruck Management.
She seeks a "full and complete accounting" of all monies received by Starstruck related to her services, including commissions, fees, and producing fees. Attorneys for Blackstock have not yet commented on the matter.
Clarkson's personal and professional lives have both undergone significant changes since her divorce. She has been open about the challenges of navigating her split and its impact on her children.
In an interview with Apple Music last year, she shared, "We've got to let each other go. This is not working. This is not going to pan out, and it's not working for either of us."
