The 'Yeah!' crooner admits to regretting turning down a role in the 2006 movie adaptation of 'Dreamgirls', which starred Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.

AceShowbiz - Usher has gotten candid about his regrets throughout his career. When opening up about the matter on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast, the "Yeah!" hitmaker admitted that he wished he didn't turn down the opportunity to form a supergroup with Jay-Z, Pharell Williams and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.

"Yeah, you gonna hate me for this one," the 45-year-old told Shannon Sharpe in the Thursday, February 1 episode of the latter's podcast. "Jay-Z, Pharrell, Diddy and me were supposed to be a group. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, you gonna hate me for that."

Usher said he initially approved of the idea, but that scheduling conflicts eventually got in the way. "I think that we just got caught up," he elaborated. "I think we all got caught up in a moment."

"We was talking about it and having secret meetings about it. We were talking about music and how we gon' flip it and the business of it," the R&B star continued. "And somehow, man, we just got distracted and it never happened. That's the one that I actually wish would have happened."

It was not Usher's only regret though. He confessed that he also regretted turning down a role in the 2006 movie adaptation of "Dreamgirls", which starred Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.

That aside, Usher is currently preparing to perform at the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show. He is set to take the stage on February 11 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Of what fans can expect from the gig, the "Love in This Club" singer told Vogue in a recent interview, "People will tune in for a football game, but I hope when they look at that halftime performance, I'm hoping they walk away with something that's healing them." He added, "Something that makes them feel hopeful, and not just look at the past, but have hope for the future, and have hope for a different type of future than we're looking at right now in the present."
