AceShowbiz - Lili Reinhart is struggling with excessive hair fall while also dealing with her mental health issue. The 27-year-old actress has just revealed that she has been diagnosed with alopecia while battling a "major depressive episode."

The Betty Cooper on The CW's teen drama series "Riverdale" got candid about her current problems in a new TikTok video, which was uploaded on Monday, January 29. In the clip, she was undergoing red light therapy to treat hair loss.

"Was just diagnosed with alopecia in the midst of a major depressive episode," Lili wrote over the 13-second video. In the footage, she sat beneath the light as she lip synced along to audio of a man saying, "I'm pushed beyond limits of what a person should be pushed to endure."

"Red light therapy is my new best friend," the "Hustlers" star wrote in the caption, adding hashtags for "alopecia" and "mental health."

Lili was quickly showered with supportive messages from her fans and followers. In the comments section, one person wrote, "Sending you mad love. As a kid I had a babysitter whose younger sister was diagnosed with alopecia & she was so beautiful. She radiated self love and I wound up wanting to wear wigs like her."

"I have alopecia areata! The beginning is tough, but you got this," a second user shared. I have alopecia and my health and depression make it worse. sending love."

"Love to you... comfort and healing," a fourth person wrote. Someone else added, "Your doing wonderfully keep it up."

According to the MayoClinic, "Hair loss (alopecia) can affect just your scalp or your entire body, and it can be temporary or permanent. It can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of aging. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it's more common in men."

Lili has also been open about her "exhausting battle" with depression after she began to have panic attacks at the age of 13. She said in a May 2021 Instagram Story, "Some days I feel really defeated by my depression. It's an exhausting battle that I've been fighting for 11 years. Some days, like today, it can feel intolerable."

She went on sharing a message to her "fellow warriors," "You don't need to justify your mental health to anyone. Prioritize yourself when needed, take time to rest. Surround yourself with good people and high vibrations. But remember you are always worth fighting for. And tomorrow could be such a beautiful day."
