The trailer for the upcoming Netflix live-action series sees Aang, played by Gordon Courmier, initially struggling to accept his newfound responsibility as the new Avatar.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has finally treated fans to the first full trailer for its upcoming series "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Unveiled on Monday, January 22, the trailer sees Aang, played by Gordon Courmier, struggling to accept his newfound responsibility as the new Avatar.

The two-and-a-half-minute footage opens with someone talking about the threat coming from the Fire Nation. "The Fire Nation is embarked on a dark path, and the world might never recover. The world needs the Avatar," says the character in voiceover as scenes of how the Fire Nation launches attacks on other nations play.

It also shares a glimpse at the scene where Aang, who is stuck in the ice before being found by Katara (Kiawentiio Tarbell) and Sokka (Ian Ousley), returns to his home only to find that it's already been destroyed. The trailer additionally features light-hearted jokes in addition to action-packed scenes and noteworthy works of CGI.

At one point in the trailer, Aang appears to be skeptical of what he's actually capable of as an Avatar. "I'm not someone who can stop the Fire Nation. I don't want the responsibility," he tearfully says.

However, after some convincing from Sokka and Katara, Aang knows that the world relies on him. "I'm the Avatar. I'm gonna save the world," Aang vows before the trailer ends.

The official logline of "Avatar: The Last Airbenders" read, "Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope. But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Cormier), a young Air Nomad - and the last of his kind - reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar."

"Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) determined to capture them, it won't be an easy task. They'll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way," it continued.

Joining Gordon, Kiawentiio and Ian in the cast are Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh, Maria Zhang as Suki, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, Elizabeth Yu as Azula, and Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" is set to arrive on Netflix on February 22.
