The world-famous home of country music responds to criticisms after the 'America's Sweetheart' songstress admitted that she was 'hammered' during her performance at the venue.

AceShowbiz - Opry has given its response to criticisms over Elle King's performance at a Dolly Parton tribute. The world-famous home of country music issued an apology after the "America's Sweetheart" singer admitted that she was drunk during her show.

On Saturday, January 20, Opry made use of X, formerly known as Twitter, to apologize to one of the online critics. In a tweet, the venue wrote, "Hi Judas, we deeply regret and apologize for the language that was used during last night's second Opry performance."

Opry was replying to the critic who tweeted, "I wish [Lauren Alaina] would've been there because Elle King ruined the night with her horrible, drunk, and profane performance. Dolly Parton would've been mortified. For our first time at The Opry, it was a shame we all had to witness that."

"It was such a disappointment to spend $300 on tickets for a show where one of the artists ruined an entire night. I mean it's The Opry, the greatest country venue in the world. That performance was like lackluster karaoke performer wasted out of their minds. Awful," the critic continued in a follow-up tweet. They added, "Is that the norm here? Cause if so, no thanks."

Opry Tweet

Opry responded to a criticism over Elle King's performance at the venue.

The statement came one day after Elle disappointed fans with her "horrible" performance. On Friday night, January 19, she performed at the Ryman Auditorium to commemorate Dolly's 78th birthday. Elle was documented in a video, which was uploaded via TikTok, delivering Dolly's song titled "Marry Me".

In the clip, Elle could be heard singing, "I don't know the lyrics to these things in this f**king town/ Don't tell Dolly 'cus it's her birthday." She went on to tell concertgoers, "I'm not even gonna f**king lieā€¦ y'all bought tickets for this s**t, you ain't getting your money back." She then confessed, "I'm gonna tell you one thing more. Hi, my name is Elle King, I'm f**king hammered."

After the footage went viral, many social media users voiced their thoughts on Elle's performance. In the comments section, one in particular stated, "It was tragic to witness this! I'm glad they pulled the curtain on her. Huge disrespect to Dolly." Another asked, "This is disappointing. I've seen Elle live before & she put on a great show. I'm wondering if she was on something??"
