AceShowbiz - Sofia Vergara has finally broken her silence on her divorce from Joe Manganiello. When discussing how she's going through public scrutiny around their split, the "Modern Family" alum said she was actually "surprised" that the media didn't exaggerate things.

The 51-year-old opened up about the matter on "CBS Sunday Morning". She shared, "You're out there [in the public eye] and people know that's part of being a celebrity," before adding, "I knew it was gonna happen. You can't hide those things."

Of how she overcame going through a public divorce, Sofia claimed, "It wasn't bad." The "America's Got Talent" judge further elaborated, "I think, you know, I have to say the press was very respectful and very nice."

"And I thought that they were gonna invent more things, and you know how it usually is," the actress went on elaborating. "I was surprised and, you know, they, they kind of just said what it was and, and that was it."

Sofia and Joe announced their split in July 2023. However, the celebrity duo insisted at the time that they still "love and care" for each other. They said in a statement, "We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives."

Sofia now moves on with Justin Saliman. The pair sparked romance rumors after they were spotted having dinner together in Beverly Hills, California in October. Since then, the two have made public appearances and hung out together.

Despite embarking on a new relationship, Sofia is reportedly "taking things slow" with the orthopedic surgeon. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, a source spilled, "They like each other a lot, but Sofia is also taking things slow. Justin likes that she takes pride in keeping her personal life private, that she's up front and honest, and that she can be her genuine self with him."
