In the newly-released music video itself, the 'Montero (Call Me by Your Name)' hitmaker is documented opening the gates of heaven for several celebrity look-alikes.

AceShowbiz - Lil Nas X has had a few social media users come in his defense following the release of his controversial music project. Shortly after dropping the music video of his single titled "J Christ", the "Old Town Road" hitmaker still received supportive messages despite many criticisms.

On Thursday, January 11, the 24-year-old Grammy-winning hip-hop artist was defended by some Instagram users on the social media platform. In the comments section of a new post featuring a clip from the music video, one of them penned, "He's actually depicting the defeat of the devil!"

"They are mad because the dude is gay. It wasn't anywhere near this type of outrage when Lil Boosie got on instagram live and admitted to having his 12 year old son and nephews m0!3:s:t3d," the user continued while making a reference to a rapper famously known as Boosie Badazz.

Similarly, another joined in, "I mean...... It's his art and artist decides themselves through their music. Who are we to judge him when we don't know the conversations that he Had with God in private & if he didn't we will never find out. Doja Cat didn't get under yall skin ?"

In the meantime, other Instagram users could not help but blast Lil Nas X. While some of them advised people to "ignore" the artist, one in particular declared, "Disgusting how he's allowed to get away with mocking Christianity, but it this was any other religion, the world would be in an uproar!!"

A fourth added, "I need my people of God to be more bold in Christ! No more luke warm spirits! This man should be canceled. If he was mocking the Jewish religion he would be canceled by tomorrow. If he was mocking the Muslims he would even bigger problems if you know what I mean."

In the music video itself, Lil Nas X is documented opening heaven's gates for several celebrity look-alikes of famous figures, including Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama. He is also filmed on a cross while being cheered on by many people, who wear all-white outfits. The clip ends with a message that reads, "Day zero. A new beginning," before it shows a verse from the Bible.
