Following reports that she enlisted the 'Boom Clap' songstress as well as Julia Michaels for her next album, the 'Me Against the Music' singer insists that she'll 'never return to the music industry.'

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears is not working on a new album despite recent rumors stating otherwise. The pop star has declared that she has no intention to return to the music industry after reports surfaced of her allegedly enlisting Charli XCX and Julia Michaels to help write songs for her next album.

Taking to her Instagram page to debunk the album rumors, the 42-year-old wrote along with a picture of the Italian Renaissance painting "Salome Bearing the Head of St. John the Baptist", "Just so we're clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album ... I will never return to the music industry !!!"

Britney then claimed that she has been ghostwriting for other artists. "When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!" she revealed in the January 3 post. "For those of you who have read my book, there's loads that you don't know about me ... I've written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!"

She also addressed speculation about her best-selling memoir "The Woman in Me", writing, "People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that's far from the truth …" Despite the wild reports that she denied, Britney said, "have you read the news these days ??? I'm so LOVED and blessed !!!"

Britney issued the statement after Page Six reported that Charli and Julia were among artists tapped to pen tracks for Britney's upcoming 10th studio album. However, sources told the site that the "...Baby One More Time" hitmaker has not recorded any new material yet, as the project is only starting to take shape.

Britney, who rose to global fame with her first album "...Baby One More Time" (1999) that included the hit title track, last released a full-length album, "Glory", in 2016. She last debuted a new song, "Mind Your Business", with will.i.am in 2023.
