AceShowbiz - Paris Hilton was highly criticized following a confession about her experience in being a first-time mom. After admitting that she didn't change her son Phoenix's diaper for one month, the former star of "The Simple Life" was bombarded with negative comments from social media users.

On Tuesday, December 5, the 42-year-old socialite faced backlash after getting candid with her part in taking care of her first child Phoenix, whom she welcomed with her husband Carter Reum via surrogate in January. In the comments section of an Instagram post about her confession, one critic penned, "Beyond disturbing she had to ask let alone not feel normal doing it."

The critic continued, "Wow their Mom shouldn't be surprised to anything they do or bring to the table. Ridiculous especially with everything going on in the world!!! Really??? I was scared to change a diaper??" Similarly, another joined in, "This is hard for me to wrap my head around. It wasn't like she was dealing with post-partum depression since she didn't actually give birth. I felt a tremendous amount of guilt if I missed anything with my first baby even a diaper change... that wasn't very healthy either."

Despite the unpleasant online responses, Paris was defended by a number of Instagram users. One in particular wrote, "This misrepresents her. She was scared of doing anything wrong so she had her nanny do everything. She had to empower herself to realize she could be a good mom." Meanwhile, another noted, "That's what nannies, chefs and housekeepers, and assistants are for. If you think this lady does any of these mundane things you are nuts. She has an army of help."

The mixed comments came after Paris confessed to her sister Nicky Hilton about changing Phoenix's diaper. The two stars had a conversation about motherhood in a third episode of season 2 of "Paris in Love". At one point, Paris asked Nicky, "Should I learn how to change his diaper?" She went on to say to her then-newborn son, "I said I wouldn't do this on my birthday, but I will for you. Anything for Phoenix."

Paris was later heard admitting that she was "scared" while being documented setting Phoenix down on a changing table. Nicky then asked, "You've never done it?" In response, the disc jockey and reality TV star simply said no.
