AceShowbiz - Lenny Kravitz has reflected on a past unwanted sexual encounter he had when he was younger. When speaking about the matter, the "Fly Away" artist also explained why he doesn't want to label the incident as a teenage assault.

"It was an experience and a lesson," the 59-year-old singer told Esquire when asked about an unwanted sexual act that he previously discussed in his 2020 memoir, "Let Love Rule". He added, "Everything doesn't have to be so..."

"I'm not saying that there aren't things that deserve to be addressed - maybe somebody would say it should have been addressed and that it was, whatever, but that's the time it was," the rocker continued. "I lived, and I learned. I wasn't traumatized."

In his book, Lenny explained that the incident happened when his parents were out of town and he was being watched by a family friend. The sitter reportedly invited their friend, who later entered the Grammy winner's room. The individual allegedly got under the covers with him and touched him without permission.

As he grew up, Lenny realized that what had happened to him as a teenager had lasting results. "I wasn't interested in convincing or coercing women," he wrote in the book, per the outlet. "I'd been coerced myself and didn't like it."

Elsewhere in the conversation, Lenny also admitted that he had trouble staying faithful in his romantic relationships. He said he sometimes wasn't "confident that this is the person for me, always thinking something else may be better." He then acknowledged, "I put some people through some hard times."

Lenny was previously married to Lisa Bonet from 1987 to 1993. The former couple shares daughter Zoe Kravitz together.
