AceShowbiz - Eric McCormack apparently has separated from Janet Holden. More than two decades after tying the knot with his wife, the actor portraying Will Truman on "Will & Grace" has been slapped with divorce papers by the assistant director of "The Edge".

According to TMZ, the 60-year-old Canadian actor's wife submitted the divorce papers to court on Wednesday, November 22. In the new legal documents, which were obtained by the outlet, she wrote "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their breakup. However, she did not offer a date of her separation from Eric.

In the docs, Janet reportedly demanded spousal support and wanted "to end the court's ability to award Eric spousal support." In addition, she did not ask for child support as the two "do not have any minor children together." It remains unknown if they have a prenuptial agreement in place.

The divorce filing came around twenty six years after Eric and Janet got married. The Basil Garvey depicter on "Slasher" and the "Lonesome Dove" assistant director tied the knot back in August 1997. The couple shares 21-year-old son Finnigan Holden McCormack together.

Previously, Eric opened up about the first time he met Janet. Speaking to The Guardian in 2017, he recalled, "I met my wife, Janet, in 1994 on the set of a TV series. She was the assistant director. I was just coming out of a relationship, and not to be trusted."

Eric went on to recall, "I'd been dating actresses but Janet was different. She wore jeans, drove a pick-up truck ... At first she wasn't too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you." He then bragged, "But I managed to convince her."

"We had a secret affair the first season," the actor portraying Grant MacLaren on "Travelers" continued. "I mean, dating crew! Actually, it was much worse for her, because she wasn't supposed to give any of the actors preferential treatment."
