AceShowbiz - Lil Yachty wondered why he got snubbed from the Grammys 2024 nominations. The "Slide" rapper was questioning why his recent album, "Let's Start Here", lacks recognition from the Recording Academy.

"By the way, I was snubbed on a Grammy nomination today," the 26-year-old said when taking part in Rolling Stone's first-ever live Musicians on Musicians event in Brooklyn on Friday, November 10. "I just don't feel like anyone put a better album out... Like, sonically. Lyrically, maybe. But sonically?"

Yachty claimed "hip-hop is right now" in a terrible place." On the reason why, he explained, "It's a lot of imitation. It's a lot of quick, low-risk music. People too safe now. I'd rather take the risk and take the L."

"It's a lot less risk-taking, it's a lot less originality," the emcee, born Miles Parks McCollum,, continued. "People are too safe now. Everyone is so safe. I rather take the risk than take the L."

Yachty declared that he "worked really hard from start to finish" when it comes to his latest project, "Let's Start Here". Despite his disappointment, the rhymer said he "handled it way better than I thought I did. Like I thought I was gonna be like throwing s**t around like mad as hell, but I didn't care. When it came out I just honestly 0.5 seconds after deleted it out of my brain."

"It's crazy because the last eight months I've been thinking about it but when it came out I was like, 'Ok' because at the end of the day it is what you love," he further elaborated. "Creating that album built such a level of confidence for me. And I've loved my artistry all over again on another level and I've become so confident in myself and knowing that was the starting point for what I can do and what I'm going to do."
