AceShowbiz - Netflix has finally unveiled the first teaser of its live-action adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Through the first-look video, which was released on Thursday, November 9, the streaming giant treats fans to a better look at the journey of Aang (Gordon Cormier) as a young Avatar who reawakens after being frozen inside an iceberg for a hundred years.

The teaser kicks off with what seems to be Sozin's Comet before Firebenders can be seen attacking some places. It also features Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) from Water Tribe discovering the iceberg with Aang and Appa inside.

Later, it brings viewers to the Earth Kingdom as Aang tries to find his old friend Bumi. Elsewhere in the teaser, Aang, Sokka and Katara can be seen riding Appa with Daniel Dae Kim's Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee's General Iroh, Ken Leung's Commander Zhao, Elizabeth Yu's Princess Azula and Dallas Liu's Prince Zuko being glimpsed.

The official logline of "Avatar: The Last Airbenders" reads, "Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope. But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Cormier), a young Air Nomad - and the last of his kind - reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar."

"Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Liu) determined to capture them, it won't be an easy task. They'll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way," it continues.

Albert Kim ("Sleepy Hollow", "Nikita") serves as showrunner in addition to executive producing and writing. Rideback's Dan Lin ("The Lego Movie", "Aladdin") and Lindsey Liberatore ("Walker"), Jabbar Raisani as well as Michael Goi ("Swamp Thing", "American Horror Story") join Kim as executive producers. Goi, Roseanne Liang, Raisani and Jet Wilkinson helm the upcoming series.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" will premiere on February 22, 2024 on Netflix.
