When discussing her upcoming rock album 'Rockstar', the 'Jolene' hitmaker also vows to 'never retire' and to continue making 'hay while the sun shines.'

AceShowbiz - Dolly Parton has no plans to retire at all. When talking about her upcoming album, "Rockstar", during an interview on "Greatest Hits Radio", the "Jolene" hitmaker revealed her hope to "drop dead" onstage instead.

On Thursday, July 13, the 77-year-old singer told host Ken Bruce, "I would never retire." She went on to spill, "I'll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song onstage someday, hopefully one I've written. But anyway, that's how I hope to go because we don't have much of a choice in that."

The "Islands in the Stream" singer further shared her plan for the future. "As long as I'm able to work, as long as my health is good and my husband is good, the only way that I would ever slow down would be for that reason," she stated. "But in the meantime, I'm going to make hay while the sun shines."

When asked about the things that she would love to do, Dolly declared, "I have new dreams every day. I've got lots of dreams." She elaborated, "As I mentioned, I want to have my own network TV show where I can actually do a lot of new things and produce."

"And I want to have my own story called 'The Life of Many Colors' where I have a whole series of my life stuff that people haven't seen or heard, about my people and where I come from, how I'm I've got to be who I am," the country music legend continued.

"To really have the behind the scenes and adventures of my life," Dolly added. "All the behind the scenes of working with all these different bands and all the situations that can come from the bad, the good, the ugly, the different. So that's one thing I want to do and just host more TV shows."

Elsewhere in the interview, Dolly talked about her first rock album. The effort, which is set to be released on November 17, features her collaborations with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Sheryl Crow, Lizzo and Elton John among others. About the album, she said, "I thought, 'Well if I'm ever going to do a rock and roll album, now is the time.' "

"Because I wanted to feel that all the rock artists out there that work so hard can appreciate me for at least picking some great rock songs and having some of these great iconic rock artists on it. So hopefully it'll be appreciated," she additionally stated.
