AceShowbiz - Jungkook has finally made his solo debut with "Seven" featuring Latto (Mulatto). The BTS (Bangtan Boys) member unleashed the new single alongside its visuals, which shows him being a clingy boyfriend to his partner played by South Korean actress Han So-hee.
Arrived on Friday, July 14, the clip kicks off with a scene where Jungkook and his on-screen girlfriend are seated at a table in a restaurant. So-hee gets angry at him, but the singer loves her so much that he tries to make her understand his love for her.
Jungkook follows So-hee everywhere she goes, like doing laundry and when she's on a train. Not stopping there, the South Korean pop star even wakes up from his death and sings, "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday/ Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, seven days a week/ Every hour, every minute, every second/ You know night after night/ I'll be lovin' you right seven days a week."
Latto also makes an appearance in the video. She delivers her bars at Jungkook's funeral, sitting on top of his coffin. At the end of the clip, So-hee finally can accept Jungkook's clinginess as she extends her hand and they walk away together in the rain.
Speaking of "Seven", Jungkook's label Big Hit explained in a statement, " 'Seven' is an invigorating 'summer song' that is sure to have you experience the full breadth of Jungkook's charm." It added, "As Jungkook kicks off his official solo activities, we ask you to extend your utmost anticipation and support for his digital single and many other activities to come."
The artist himself has been preparing for his solo debut for a long time. "People say that I excel, that I'm an all-rounder. Of course, I excel in some areas, but I don't think it necessarily helps to bask in those talents and gifts," he told Rolling Stone in 2021.
"You can only improve in a certain area when you really practice, when you really try, when you deep-dive into it," he continued. "So I really don't want to think myself as an all-rounder. I just want to keep trying and working hard. And of course I do feel pressure, but those pressures can also drag me to work hard and do best at what I do."
