Nearly two decades after her reality TV series first aired, the 'Take My Breath Away' songstress responds to the latest perception of her former husband as a villain in their marriage.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Simpson has dissed Nick Lachey. When discussing her reality TV series "Newlyweds" which aired from 2003 to 2005, the "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer offered her two cents on new online comments about her ex-husband being the villain.
The 42-year-old songstress shaded her 49-year-old former partner in a cover story for Bustle that was published on Thursday, July 6. "It's amazing what publicity can do," she stated when referring to people's belief in the past that her ex was the one suffering in their marriage.
During the chat, the "Open Book" author was said to have given a "better-late-than-never shrug" before making the comment. At the time, she was informed by writer Mickey Rapkin that social media users have recently seen her ex as a villain in contrast to past perception of him.
A TikTok video of a "Newlyweds" scene wherein Nick could be seen calling Jessica a "brat" several times has recently gone viral. In the comments section, one user admitted, "Wow… this hits differently watching now as a married adult." Another stated, "It makes me sad when he's calling her a brat and she says I'm a nice girl."
A third chimed in, "He was so mentally and emotionally abusive to her. tells her to go away and then gets mad that she goes away?" A fourth, in the meantime, reminded, "If anyone is talked to this way. let this be your sign to leave asap!" The user added a slew of red flag emojis.
In her Bustle's cover story, Jessica also discussed her part on the early aughts reality show. "What gave me control was people seeing me vulnerable on 'Newlyweds'. My power is in my vulnerability," she confessed.
On how she was depicted on the series, Jessica said, "That's me. I'm still that person." She further claimed, "Honestly, if Eric told me I had to do all the laundry, I would still throw it over the banister and throw a hissy fit."
Discussion about "Newlyweds" aside, Jessica flaunted her booty cheeks in the cover photo. She wore a pair of long blue jeans pants which had a cut-out on the back side of its wearer's legs. Her pants came with a pair of white thong undies to cover her lower asset and several sparkling chains. She paired the bottom with a body fit white ribbed bra top with straps designed by Calle Del Mar.
