The 'Like a Virgin' songstress is saved after suffering a serious bacterial infection, allegedly thanks to the opioid antidote, through there is no indication that she was given the medicine to counter the side effects of drug use.

AceShowbiz - Madonna was reportedly so close to death when she was found responsive on June 24. Her condition was so dire that she "had to be brought back from the dead" with Narcan injection, according to a new report.

Per RadarOnline.com's sources, when first responders discovered her lifeless body, they were forced to administer a Narcan injection to revive her. She was then rushed to the hospital, where she reportedly had to be intubated for at least one night.

Narcan, also known as naxalone, is a medicine used to treat narcotic overdose in an emergency situation. It works by increasing blood pressure in the management of septic shock, a life-threatening condition that happens when blood pressure drops to a dangerously low level.

Despite the alleged use of Narcan, there is currently no evidence that the Queen of Pop was given the opioid antagonist in relation to any type of drug abuse since an accute septic shock may also occur when an infection is so severe that the patient's immune system can begin to inadvertently damage the body through its extreme responses to the infection.

Madonna was discharged from the hospital after five days, but she was allegedly "vomiting uncontrollably" since she got back to her house. It was recently reported that the 64-year-old singer/actress is still "weak and very tired" as she continues to recover from a serious bacterial infection.

With only ten days left before the scheduled start of her "Celebration Tour", Madge's recovery is not going as quickly as she expected, leaving the future of the tour uncertain. One source told TMZ that she spends most of her time in bed.

Meanwhile, another source told UsWeekly that Madge is "taking her recovery seriously" and not going to "rush" anything. "Although Madonna is looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible, she's also taking her recovery seriously and isn't going to rush anything because she is focused on her health above all else," the so-called insider shared. "She has an incredible support system around her and appreciates all the love she's received. It's a work in progress but she's feeling confident and better every day."
