It has been reported that the 'Good 4 U' singer's management makes the request to take the South Korean star's music video down due to copyright infringement in certain scenes.

AceShowbiz - K-Pop singer Yena's music video to her controversial new title track "Hate Rodrigo" has been made private on YouTube. It has been reported that Olivia Rodrigo's team made a request to take it down due to copyright issues.
According to Korean news outlet Xportnews, the "Drivers License" hitmaker's management claimed that the request wasn't because of its controversial song title. Instead, they noted that it's due to copyright infringement in certain scenes of the music video.
In response to this issue, a representative from Yena's agency, Yuehua Entertainment, stated, "We are currently in the process of assessing the situation."
The said music video had photos and images of the Grammy-winning singer. In addition to that, the visuals featured a reference to Olivia's "deja vu" in a scene which saw Yena driving an open car while enjoying an ice cream. Yena also sported identical outfit to Olivia's in the scene.
Fans, meanwhile, had mixed responses to the issue. Some fans blamed the whole thing on Yena's agency with one saying, "yena deserves better from her management. it's pretty basic knowledge to ask before using a copyrighted trademark like 'Rodrigo' and stuff pretty clearly related to Olivia's brand ://" One other said, "Poor Yena. Her management team doesnt think about the impact?"
However, some others pointed out that Yena participated in the making of the song as well as the concept. "y'all are blaming yena's team but... y'all do know she wrote the lyrics, composed the song and worked on the concept herself right," one wrote.
Another argued, "Yena obviously participated in the making of the song and concept but do y'all think that she didn't have to sit with the company before releasing this? No matter what y'all say, it's the company's fault. They either should've asked for permission or stopped her from releasing it."
As for the song, "Hate Rodrigo" talks about Yena's mixture of jealousy and admiration toward Olivia. The Korean star attempted to express her emotions toward the American artist by combining the "Happier" singer's name with the negative term "hate" in the title and combining it. She also shared that the title is supposed to be an "ironic expression."
