Although she took a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, the Wanda Maximoff depicter admits 'WandaVision' was a 'surprising opportunity' for her.

AceShowbiz - Elizabeth Olsen apparently does not miss playing Marvel Cinematic Universe's Scarlet Witch. When sitting down to talk about portraying Wanda Maximoff in the superhero franchise, the "WandaVision" actress got candid about her coveted Avenger role.

While on a break from the blockbuster projects, the 34-year-old beauty took part on Variety's "Actors on Actors" series, and had a conversation with fellow actress Meghann Fahy. As they chatted, she received a question from Meghann who asked her, "Do you miss doing Wanda?"

In return, Elizabeth surprisingly told Meghann, "No, I don't. I think it's been almost 10 years of playing her. And I've loved it." On the reason why, she explained, "And I think the reason why I am not calling Kevin Feige every day with ideas is because I'm really proud of what we were able to do."

The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" actress went on to share her thoughts about the TV series. "I think 'WandaVision' was a really surprising opportunity," she stated. "If someone were to tell me that I'm fired from Marvel movies, I will feel proud of what we made. And I really am just trying to figure out how to load up other films and characters so it becomes less about the Marvel of it all."

This was not the first time Elizabeth opened up about her role as Wanda. Back in May 2022, she talked about her character becoming a villain in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". "Um, well, I knew I was gonna be in 'Doctor Strange', but I thought I was gonna be, like, in an ensemble thing," she told Variety at that time.

The younger sister of Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen further elaborated, "So at first I think I was nervous and conflicted, because I hadn't finished 'WandaVision' yet, but we were almost finished. And I was like, 'Oh my god, how do I make this all work together?' We got there; I got there."

"And it became an amazing opportunity to have people be won over by this woman in 'WandaVision' and feel for her, and then, you know, manipulate them into this film, where they get to be on her side and then feel conflicted themselves. So I thought that was a great opportunity," she added.
