The model/actor slams his wife's family for speaking about the 'Hold It Against Me' singer in an upcoming FOX special produced by TMZ, calling their action 'disgusting.'

AceShowbiz - Sam Asghari is defending Britney Spears ahead of the release of a new TV special about her. The model/actor is lashing out at his wife's family, accusing them of "gaslighting" for speaking about her in the upcoming FOX special.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 14, the 29-year-old called out Britney's family over their "disgusting" action. "The last thing I want to do is speak on my wife's behalf," he began in a video, "I would never do that. I respect her privacy. That's why I don't talk as much. And I found it absolutely disgusting for the people that were in her life at the time she didn't have voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs. It was absolutely disgusting."

Sam specifically took aim at Britney's father Jamie Spears for taking "the most influential person of our generation, the princess of pop, America's sweetheart and put[ting] her in prison" for her father, a conservator of her conservatorship, to tell her what to do in a span of years and make her a "money-making machine."

He continued, "After fifteen years, when she's free after all those gaslighting, and after all those things that went down, now, you're going to put her under a microscope and tell her story? No. That's also disgusting, so don't do that."

Sam also implored fans, "And don't believe what you read online. Ninety-nine percent of the time, those are all click-baits." He went on concluding his message, "And that time is over. I'm not gonna allow that. That should stop, absolutely. The gaslighting and all that s**t gotta stop."

Sam did not mention what caused him to be angry, but his message comes ahead of the release of upcoming TV special titled "TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom" on Monday, May 15. Produced by TMZ, the special will explore "details about her deeply troubled marriage, family estrangement, alarming behavior, failed intervention and how she continues to be an enduring force in the music industry." It also promises to "reveal concern among those closest to her that she's a danger to herself and others."

In a trailer for the special, TMZ's managing editor Fabian Garcia claims that Britney "got physical with Sam," while TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin adds her marriage is in "deep trouble."

Seemingly brushing off rumors about their marital issues, on Friday, Sam shared a video of him and Britney on a hike. The two could be seen all smiles while posing outdoor. "Hike with my woman," he captioned the clip.
