AceShowbiz - Sam Asghari, former husband to pop icon Britney Spears, recently offered some candid insights into his past and present relationships.
In a conversation with Us Weekly on April 25, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, during the grand opening of The Tryst hotel, Sam unveiled the distinctions between his union with Britney and his current relationship with Los Angeles-based real estate agent Brooke Irvine.
Referring to his seven-year relationship with Britney as "Hollywood," Sam emphasized that his four-month relationship with Irvine is "all about love."
He expressed, "It's not about the industry, it's not about Hollywood, it's about what really is the most important thing, and that's being present, being in the moment and supporting others that are doing the same thing."
Sam Asghari and Britney Spears met on the set of her music video "Slumber Party" in October 2016, and they tied the knot in June 2022 after she was freed from her conservatorship. However, Sam filed for divorce 14 months after their wedding.
Making his red carpet debut with his new girlfriend at the Mexico event, Sam explained it wasn't a calculated decision, "It wasn't, 'Now is the time,' or whatever, but we're here to support a great cause."
"Love is not about gender, not about race, not about anything. Love doesn't understand any of those things, so that's why I'm always going to be an ally of this [LGBTQ+] community - because they help me believe that and understand that."
Britney Spears, for her part, once suggested that her marriage to Sam Asghari was doomed from the very beginning, “A month after I got married on this day, I married myself !!! Things that make you go HMMMMMM…."
