In a statement, the singer/TV host explains that she 'decided to release 'Mine' and 'Me' at the same time because I didn't want to release just one song to represent' her upcoming album, 'Chemistry'.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson has unleashed two new singles ahead of the release of her tenth studio album. The former "American Idol" winner dropped "Me" and "Mine" on Friday, April 14, in which she calls out her ex.

On "Me", which was co-written by GAYLE, Kelly emphasizes that she's done being hurt by her insecure partner. "I bet you feel the absence of my love every night/ There's no one else, you are the reason I said goodbye," she sings. "Cause I don't need somebody to scold me/ Don't need somebody that hurts me/ Don't need somebody who feels weak standing next to me."

On the second track "Mine", "The Kelly Clarkson Show" host reflects on how she ended up with the "wrong" guy. "You know I question every motive, everything you say/ Thought with you maybe my heart wasn't meant to break/ Can't believe I let you in, I can't believe I stayed/ As long as I stayed, yeah."

"I hope one day will take your heart and hold it tight/ Make you feel like you're invincible deep inside," the musician, who has finalized her nasty divorce from Brandon Blackstock, goes on. "And right when you think that it's perfect, they cross the line/ And steal your shine, like you did mine."

"Me" and "Mine" will appear on Kelly's upcoming album, "Chemistry", which is set to be released on June 23. In a statement, Kelly explained that she "decided to release 'Mine' and 'Me' at the same time because I didn't want to release just one song to represent an entire album, or relationship." She added, "There are many stages of grief and loss on this album. Each song is a different stage and emotional state."

"Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling. It's like you have no choice in the matter. You are just drawn to each other," the talk show host elaborated further. "This can be good and bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down."
