AceShowbiz - Sabrina Carpenter was forced to cancel her concert in Portland, Oregon due to "credible security threat." According to reports, the decision was made just before the singer hit the stage at the Keller Auditorium after an anonymous person called in a bomb threat.
AEG Presents, the show's promoter, told Rolling Stone that Sabrina's scheduled show at Keller Auditorium on Monday, April 10 was canceled "out of an abundance of caution" following a "credible threat" targeting the Crystal Ballroom. It was a different venue in Portland, but the "Nonsense" singer was originally slated to perform there that night.
"While the threat was not directed at Keller Auditorium specifically, Sabrina and event organizers agreed that out of an abundance of caution, the show be called off... Steps were taken to ensure that the audience exited the venue calmly, quickly, and safely," the promoter further explained.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Nathan Sheppard of the Portland Police Bureau told the outlet that "employees with the Crystal Ballroom called after they received a phone call from an anonymous person claiming they were going to blow up the venue."
Concertgoers revealed that Sabrina had already performed a mic check for VIP access attendees. It was also said that her opening act, Spill Tab, had already performed their set before the show was canceled entirely.
After the cancellation, Sabrina took to her Twitter account to address the matter. "Portland, I can't tell you how much this breaks my heart, this is the last thing I wanted to do but due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be able to perform tonight," the "because i liked a boy" songstress explained on the blue bird app. "Please take care of yourselves and return home safely! i am so sorry. i love you very much."
Fans immediately sent well wishes in the replies. "hope you and everyone is safe," a fan replied to her post. "Stay well Sabrina and it's great that you are well, please take care, everything will be fine, I love you," another fan added, while one other said, "I'm sorry I know it's a hard decision but what matters most is that you, your team and everyone's okay!!"
