The 'Santa Clarita Diet' actress is blasted online after getting on her knees and clutching the TikToker's hands during a conversation about dealing with hatred in their careers on her talk show.

AceShowbiz - Drew Barrymore has been slammed online for getting too friendly for comfort during an interview with trans woman Dylan Mulvaney. The actress-turned-talk show host has got trolls irritated for kneeling before the TikToker, who was a guest on "The Drew Barrymore Show" on Monday, March 13.

During a conversation about dealing with hatred in their careers, Dylan admitted, "There's so much hatred and drama and things get convoluted, but getting to meet my role models, even you today - it's the best part."

On how she handles the hateful comments, the influencer confided, "I still read the comments. But there is so much hatred directed at the trans community right now, it's everywhere. And I think the greatest weapon that I can contribute is trans joy and comedy and talking about hard subjects, and really intricate moments of a transition, and [I] try to let everybody in to see that I'm not a monster, I'm not somebody that is trying to do anything but be myself and be happy."

Dylan then looked at Drew and pointed out, "It's interesting because I look at someone like you and I can't imagine anybody disliking you." The 48-year-old actress responded, "Oh, please," as she kneeled in front of Dylan. She added, "Do you want to know, ironically, who dislikes me the most sometimes? Myself."

The exchange led to a hug between the two as they continued the segment kneeling and sitting on the floor, which many social media users found "bizarre" and "insulting" that Drew was literally kneeling "to a man."

After the episode aired, State Freedom Caucus Network comms director Greg Price commented, "Women are now getting on their hands and knees to show solidarity with a man who has lived as a woman for less than a year. Truly the sneakiest trick the patriarchy ever pulled."

YouTuber Oli London tweeted, "Why does Drew Barrymore Hate Women? By kneeling and bowing down to a MAN who Mocks Women- Drew is slapping every single woman in the face. Such an insult. #dylanmulvaney."

"Woody Harrelson was right. Fame has some very negative effects on the brain. Hot Takes: All Hell Breaks Loose After Drew Barrymore Prostrates Herself Before Trans 'Woman'," RedState deputy managing editor Brandon Morse joked.

Radio host Jennifer Barreto-Leyva remarked, "This photo speaks volumes and not in a good way. Shame on you @DrewBarrymore." Former BLM activist Xaviaer DuRousseau chimed in, "Does Drew Barrymore not realize that she is literally on her hands and knees for a man? The patriarchy wins again..."

"Male or female, none of these people in the video behave like adults, or more relevantly, people capable of self-government," Claremont Institute Lincoln Fellow Inez Stepman weighed in.

Others, meanwhile, have clapped back at the critics. "Imagine being so hateful that you critique Drew for recognizing Dylan's humanity," journalist Alex Berg tweeted in response to the backlash. "It's a horrifying reflection of this moment when unprecedented policies are targeting trans people along with rhetoric calling for their eradication."

Another person noted, "Sees why Drew Barrymore is trending this morning. Oh, just a lot of bigots losing their s**t." Another praised the host, "Drew Barrymore is an icon of empathy & compassion let alone an iconic Hollywood sweetheart. Hateful people are going to spew ignorant, judgmental s**t no matter what. More people should be like #DrewBarrymore."

"Drew Barrymore and Dylan Mulvaney had a tender moment of connection on television. The critique says everything about the small minds of transphobes and nothing about the big hearts of Drew and Dylan," multimedia journalist Alex Berg added.
